Nursery and Elementary Education

Due to COVID-19 we are currently offering online worship only. In an effort to stay connected with the children in our church Ms. Lindsay is recording the Sunday school stories each week and posting them on the church Facebook page. Please click here to access our Facebook page and scroll through the postings to view recent recordings.

Location: Enter through the north door and take the stairs down to our lower level.

Nursery care is available during the worship service. Our well-equipped nursery offers a safe environment for infants and toddlers. Children can rest, play, hear a story, and have a snack.

Sunday School

Time: Immediately following "A Moment With Our Children" (10:45 - 11:30 a.m.)

Location: Grades PreK through 5 gather in Room 103 (located on the lower level)

Sunday School is offered during the worship service for preschool and elementary school students. Children sit with their family for the beginning of the worship service and leave for Sunday School after the children's sermon.

We use the Godly Play curriculum. Godly Play is what Jerome Berryman calls his interpretation of Montessori religious education. It is an imaginative approach to working with children, an approach that supports, challenges, nourishes, and guides their spiriutual quest. Godly Play assumes that children have some experience of the mystery of the presence of God in their lives, but that they lack the language, permission, and understanding to express and enjoy that in our culture. In Godly Play, we enter into parables, silence, sacred stories, and sacred liturgy in order to discover God, ourselves, one another, and the world around us.
