Hallway - D. E. Uhlig

Hi. I’m D.E.Uhlig. I’m an artist, author, husband and father. For as long as I can remember, I have loved to draw. Years ago I gave my wife a hand-drawn card for our anniversary, and she loved it so much she made me promise to always hand-draw her cards. Then our three kids made me promise to do the same with their birthday cards. And when I posted some of my drawings online, people began asking how they could see more of my work—so I created a free, weekly email newsletter called “The Happiness of Art.” I send one email per week, each Friday. Typical issues include new artwork, prints for sale, interesting links and a Weekly Doodle. Subscribers are automatically entered in a monthly drawing for a free, limited edition fine art print — subscribe today at www.HappinessOfArt.com.

Cabinet - Judy Michaelis

A native of Kansas, Judi earned  BS and BA degrees in Art Education from Pittsburg State University.  She moved to Wichita, where she has taught art to schoolchildren of all ages for over 30 years.  Judi is also the owner of Krazy Lady Designs, where she creates recycled art glass jewelry and her true passion, one-of-a-kind glass mosaics. She is a member of Wichita Women Artists, and a teaching artist for Arts Partners, where even in "retirement" she  continues to teach young people to express themselves through various artmmediums.

Artist's Statement
GLASS, GLORIOUS GLASS
The reflection of light upon a surface.......
The interaction of colors.....
The unforgiving nature of the material.....
The evolution of the work as it progresses.....
The discovery of the process.....
The constant decision making....
ALL of these,  give me great satisfaction!
